We are finally on the seventh and final Chakra in the Chakras Explained Series, the Sahasrara.
The post about the seventh energy center is divided into these categories:
- 5 Facts about the Sahasrara Chakra
- Questions to Evaluate Your Crown Chakra Health
- 5 Ways to Balance Your Sahasrara Chakra
5 Facts About The Sahasrara Chakra
#1 – Crown Chakra
The Crown Chakra is located where queens, kings and other royal people would place their crowns! And hence the name. So, this is your connection with the Universe, with the infinite beyond the physical realm.

#2 – Psychological & Emotional Associations
The Crown Chakra focuses on self-knowledge.
Psychologically, the seventh chakra links to your Right to Know.
#3 – Relationship with Physical Body
The Sahasrara is linked to the central nervous system and the cerebral cortex.
#4 – Relationship with Diet
The Crown Chakra is the energy center of thought and consciousness. Therefore, we associate fasting with the seventh chakra.
#5 – Examples of an Imbalanced Crown Chakra
- Depression, Confusion & Loneliness
A blocked crown chakra means our connection with the Universe is blocked, because the highest chakra is about tuning into the most subtle aspect of existence. It often leads to feelings of loneliness and depression.

- Feeling Disconnected From or Mad at God
Building off the previous point, when we are not in alignment in the higher chakras, we feel like the Universe is against us. When I experienced my spiritual awakening, I saw hundreds of purple-pink flowers opening in my mind’s eye.
At the time I didn’t know what this meant, but a long period of the dark night of the soul finally ended, with immense love and peace, and a sense of calm that all is well in the grand scheme of things.
- Lack of Desire for New Knowledge
Knowledge is infinite and when we are willing to learn something new, we shed our ego and evolve. But if your crown is blocked, you’re unwilling to connect with this infinitude of wisdom.

On the contrary, if your crown chakra is overactive, you may, like me, reach a stage where you’re feverishly reading dozens and dozens of books a year!
Questions To Evaluate Your Crown Chakra Health
This quick self-assessment will help you evaluate the health of your Sahasrara, and determine if you’re in need of balancing this energy center.
- Do you feel connected to the Universe and feel moments of alignment with the flow of life?
- Do you learn new things with eagerness and with ease?
- Are you open-minded and receptive to other people’s opinion?
- Are you able to experience detachment easily?
- Do you like to meditate?

The Sahasrara is about detox, inner cleanse and fasting. There are many great ways in which you can fast to strengthen your seventh energy center.
- Plant-based Diet
- Juice Cleanse
- Intermittent Fasting
- Interval Eating
- Absolute Fast (only water)
- Absolute fast without water
Fasting is actually a big part of many religions, and you can now see why!
